A Closet Essential : LBD

We have all heard someone say that cliche phrase that “every woman should have a little black dress ” right?  Well …I never understood that till now.

I have friends whose whole wardrobe consists of nothing but black…..maybe a lil gray and white in there… but no color…But personally,  I would always associate the color black to darkness or sadness, so naturally I gravitated  towards color.

My mindset changed after my mom gave me this black dress from H&M  as a gift, and I realized there are a variety of ways  to wear it. For this look I paired my little black dress with a pearl statement necklace from Francesca’s and wore my rose gold Michael Kors watch to complement the necklace.I paired the dress with a simple beige strap heels from JustFab,  and contrasted it with a black and white purse from River Island. 

A black dress can be very chic, classy , and sexy all at the same time. It can be worn for a night out with the girls, a hot date, or even in a more professional setting like work ( of course with a work appropriate length). Basically the LBD can be recycled without anyone really noticing.

Regardless of the season, a little black dress is staple that should hang in every woman’s closet.
